On Saturday 31st October, with cases of Covid-19 spiralling and concerns that the NHS would be overwhelmed by Christmas on current trajectory, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the UK would enter it’s second period of full lockdown for a period of 4 weeks, beginning Thursday 5th November and ending Tuesday 2nd December. What does this mean if you are planning to move home?
Home Secretary Robert Jenrick has announced that the housing market may remain open during this second lockdown. This includes Estate Agents, Removals, and Trades People working in homes.
Dwell will continue to service our customers throughout this period (as we did working from home during the first lockdown) and our office opening hours will be unaffected this time.
If you are looking to move home this winter, we can still help!
The safety of our staff and customers remains our first priority. We are placing an emphasis on online technology and adapting a number of our processes to minimise any unnecessary in-person contact for everyone's safety.
We are carrying out out both valuations and viewings online with our Video and Virtual Tour tech. These addtional platforms allow home movers to make convenient and informed decisions about their move from the comfort and safety of home.
We are still able to value and view properties in person with you also during this time, and as you would expect any physical appointments will be carried out in a Covid-safe manner as we continue to operate to current guidelines.
If you need to visit our office during lockdown, you will kindly need to make an appointment in advance.
The housing market remains very strong in our area going into the winter months with very high levels of demand from home movers.
There is still time to cosy up in your new home for Christmas and still time to beat the stamp duty deadline.
If you too are thinking of moving over the winter, get in touch today.
